 Vodien was a Singaporean company and I was one of their earliest customer. They bought over webvision which hosted several of my websites. Dreamscape network based in Philipines bought over Vodien. The service is atrocious. These bastards will take your money, do funny things to your hosting service and later when I prove they are incompetent they don't apologize. Finally I move my website to another host provider. No problem after that. I will be migrating my final website out of Vodien. To me, Vodien = Avoid.

Beauty centre operators and non-doctors found to be practising aesthetic medicine could be fined up to RM50,000 or jailed for up to two years once the amendments to the Medical (Amendment) Act 2012 and its regulations come into operation before year-end. Health Ministry officials said Section 33 of the Medical (Amendment) Act 2012 stated that first-time offenders could be fined not more than RM50,000 and jailed not more than two years while the fine could increase to not more than RM100,000 and jail term to not more than three years for second-time offenders. Deputy health director-general Datuk Dr S. Jeyaindran said the ministry was in its final stages of drafting the regulations following the amendments passed in Parliament in June last year. “Beauticians can be hauled up by the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) if they portray themselves as doctors or they carry out procedures that only doctors can do under the guidelines on aesthetic medical practice,” he said during a press conference at the 2nd Malaysia-Singapore Conference of Aesthetic Medicine yesterday. Dr Jeyaindran was asked if the ministry was taking any action to address loopholes in the law that did not penalise beauty centre owners who conducted invasive cosmetic procedures. Recently, guidelines on aesthetic medical practice was introduced and doctors who carried out the procedures and did not have the credentials to do so would be hauled up by the MMC for breach of professional code of practice. Dr Jeyaindran said the first batch of 22 doctors had been registered with the National Registry of Registered Medical Practitioners Practising Aesthetic Medicine.

Unwanted body and facial hair is NEVER sexy instead it’s rather embarrassing. I was first brief by Corine (she’s so helpful and friendly). When asked which part of my body to undergo this treatment, I wasn’t sure. She suggested the armpits and I thought why not! She was kind to explain to me how the machine works and even tried it on herself to show me the difference (what a sport!). Apparently, the hair on my legs and arms were not obvious/ too short – oopps!

The procedure can take up to from 5 to 30 minutes depending on the body parts. Since I was removing my armpit hair, I was assured it would only take 5 minutes. Frankly, I was a tad skeptical as 5 minutes seems like really express service (and I was wondering if it’s so fast, would it be as effective?) Time to find out….

Corine started off by cleaning the armpit area so traces of deodorant, sweat, etc is absent. A gel pad is applied onto the skin to cool it and to protect the skin from burn. I was feeling rather curious so I tried the treatment with and without the gel pad.

The difference? Without the gel pad, the heat is more prominent. So, when she applied the gel pad on my skin, it was heaven. A cool sensation that helps sooth the skin from the heat. The feeling was like a warm ant bite in a blink of an eye (make sense?)
