Unwanted body and facial hair is NEVER sexy instead it’s rather embarrassing. Personally for me, I started removing unwanted hair since high school and slowly moved on to slightly “adventurous” (who am I kidding!) ways to remove them like waxing and testing almost every depilatory hair removal products available out there.

It was my first time heading there so I was both excited and nervous. Usually when going to a waxing parlor, I would feel tad anxious (I don’t enjoy experiencing pain of any sort) but at Honeypot, I immediately felt at ease. I guess it’s due to the cozy and beautiful interior.

I was first brief by Corine (she’s so helpful and friendly). When asked which part of my body to undergo this treatment, I wasn’t sure. She suggested the armpits and I thought why not! She was kind to explain to me how the machine works and even tried it on herself to show me the difference (what a sport!). Apparently, the hair on my legs and arms were not obvious/ too short – oopps!
The procedure can take up to from 5 to 30 minutes depending on the body parts. Since I was removing my armpit hair, I was assured it would only take 5 minutes. Frankly, I was a tad skeptical as 5 minutes seems like really express service (and I was wondering if it’s so fast, would it be as effective?) Time to find out….
Corine started off by cleaning the armpit area so traces of deodorant, sweat, etc is absent. A gel pad is applied onto the skin to cool it and to protect the skin from burn. I was feeling rather curious so I tried the treatment with and without the gel pad.
The difference? Without the gel pad, the heat is more prominent. So, when she applied the gel pad on my skin, it was heaven. A cool sensation that helps sooth the skin from the heat. The feeling was like a warm ant bite in a blink of an eye (make sense?)
